baby yosemite

the forecast. totally excited

running a million errunds with mommy, exhausted!
we got to evergreen before check in time and strolled around the grounds. our friend nick works there, so we went looking for him. after that we decided to put baby in the jack pack and hike around. so i changed and we got geared up....and the rain started! so we covered up baby and walked around. it was so warm. found a sunset area with chairs and sat down to feed him. by that time it was check in time.

pre dinner snuggles with great gramma's blanket

baby loves daddys shoulders

eating at the lodge night #1, baby decides he wants to be fussy :)

he wants everything on the table...so baby drinks water out of a glass glass for the first time

sunset

love like no other

one of my favs

we had to get up early and head into the park before the crowds, so we went to bed fairly early the first night (after dinner). since the lodge was booked solid, we figured it was still peek season for park goers (normally we go off season to avoid the crowds, plus we like camping in the cold weather, crazy, i know) we ate breakfast at the lodge and were on the road by 830am and headed towards the high country.

hmm which note shall i play next...

piano jammin

getting ready for the big hike!
fed baby his am cereal in the bed of the truck. hes such a trooper. we bundled him up since it was much colder than we had expected!
hike near tuolumne meadows

sleepy baby

the thunder storm came in

and the rain

after our hike, we ate sammies in a meadow while baby napped. we drove out tioga road (the high country is by far my favorite part of the park, its just so unique and less traveled) it started raining really good, and the traffic slowed, we figured it was an accident ahead. after a few miles, we started to see snow built up on the side of the road and we both said, wait, that wasnt there this morning! right then, the hail hit us, and hard! it was so neat to be driving in such a gorgeous place with such extreme rad weather. then it slushed. then it rained so hard the wipers couldnt go fast enough. then lightening and thunder right above us. it was just so neat. we watched alice in wonderland when we got back, ate dinner, and went to bed early.

last morning snuggles with daddy

baby yosemite

o, all the stuff you bring for a tiny little baby for 3 days

last nap in the cabin

baby likes the valley, too

baby bear

baby decided hed rather ride on daddy then the stroller

this is the reason we wanted to bring baby to the valley. hehe

my favorite meadow (for the view)

best picture ive ever taken. ever.

hehe. classic pose. love it

baby

= best trip weve ever taken. even with more things to prepare and get ready, hubby and i talked about how this was the easiest, most relaxed trip we've ever taken anywhere (ad we frequent the yosemite/ Stanislaus area at least once a year). it was a much needed mini vacation away from the hustle and bustle, and our first as a family. i miss this place every time we leave and we ALWAYS want to live in the forest afterwards. baby couldnt of done better.

at 6 months i am

26 inches (grown 2 inches in 2 months)
and 15 pounds (gained 2 pounds in 2 months!)

the dr said i am getting taller faster than i am getting rounder,
looks like ill be built like daddy.

i hardly cried getting my 3 six month shots,
just like a big boy.

for my big half year birthday,
mama and papa are taking me to their favorite place
YOSEMITE.

(mom is already starting to think about my big 1 birthday bash
she bought a cute little cake pan for my first cake
and researched some low sugar baby friendly options)
where the heck do you have a kids bday party in MARCH?
besides chucke cheese and a park...hrrmm

exxcitment

also...i sleep in pj's without a swaddle (after 5 months of swaddling)
ive moved back to the bedtop bassinet gearing up to move to my own crib and room next week.
mom and dad are a little teaery eyed. they like waking up to my smiling face every morning but
im a big boy now.

mom is making me my own organic baby food. i cant wait for sweet potatoes next week (already ready for me)

ive been eating mostly breast milk for 6 months, some formula.
mom and i never got the hang of latching and positioning, even after seeing a consultant and moms painful undiagnosed infection.
so, shes been expressing and feeding me, 6-10 times a day for the last 5 months.
its very time consuming and mechanical.
she promised me and herself, she would keep it up for my health until 6 months, and then would reconsider the situation.
now at 6 months, she reached her goal, and all the pumping, shes not sure if she wants to give up such a special thing for me.

at 6 months, im so many things!!
